Nail art ideas for every season — from minimal to detailed

If you're not sure what to ask for, this guide walks through popular styles so you can go in with a clear idea rather than just a phone full of screenshots.

Nail art examples showing minimal and detailed designs — from single line work to floral patterns

Start with how involved you want to be

Nail art ranges from a single thin line at the tip to hand-painted scenes across all ten nails. Both are valid choices — the question is how much you want the nails to be noticed and how much time you want to invest in the appointment.

As a rough guide: minimal additions take 10–20 extra minutes. Detailed full-nail designs can add an hour or more. This affects pricing too — complex work is individually priced at LacquerLove because the time involved varies significantly.

Minimal and work-appropriate

The most requested styles at our studio tend to be understated: a single thin line near the base of the nail, a French tip in an unusual colour, a small dot or geometric accent on one or two nails. These work in most settings, last well, and are easy to explain to a technician. Good for people trying nail art for the first time.

Seasonal and occasional

Floral patterns are a consistent request — fine-line flowers in neutral or pastel tones. Geometric patterns, gradient (ombre) effects, and marble textures are also popular. These tend to be done for specific occasions: weddings, birthdays, summer trips. They take longer and are more involved, but they photograph well and tend to make a deliberate statement.

How to communicate what you want

Screenshots from Instagram or Pinterest are genuinely useful — they save a lot of explaining. But be realistic: a very detailed design you found on a professional nail artist's page may not translate directly to your nail shape or length. A good technician will tell you honestly what is achievable and suggest adjustments where needed.

At LacquerLove, nail art design appointments are handled by Sofia Bernard, our Gel and Nail Art Specialist. You can describe your idea when booking, or we can discuss it when you arrive.

Pricing note

Nail art additions start from €10 at LacquerLove. More detailed work — full nail patterns, multiple nails, freehand designs — is quoted individually. There are no hidden add-ons; we will confirm the total cost before starting.
